“Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?” (Job 38:22-23).

Our daughter, Ferah, was trying to explain to her children about some part of their school and relate it to the obvious hand of the Creator we can see in snowflakes. They had a hard time imagining that no two snowflakes are alike. She found more than she thought she would on the topic. Who would ever think that snowflakes were that important to make each individual one different?  Can we even imagine how many designs are possible? It can mean cold and death to some, but even in their death, look at the marvels that surround them. How can men say it all just happened by a mindless ‘force’ called Mother Nature? I think the Father might just be insulted by that false testimony and misplaced credit (Isa. 42:8, 11)!

If God has not even until recently shown man the intricacies of the snow, how many other things are there that are carefully and obviously designed that we’re not aware of? It seems He has a purpose in causing these things to be known, so that we will be held more accountable for ignoring them.

Another thing: if a snowflake is something mostly hidden from men’s eyes, and melts in a matter of seconds, does God place a high value on it? How much greater must His work be in the spiritual realm, which is eternal? So then might we get an inkling of how much more glory the eternal world has, as he labors in men’s hearts and minds, and cares for them? Such a concept seems to relate to Luke 12:27-40 also.

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith. And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not (Luke 12:27-40).

Man is constantly looking for and being glorified for finding ‘new’ things about this material world. Isn’t this exactly what he says in Prov. 25:2? “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.” God creates it, and it is God’s glory. Man merely finds out what God has created, and it is a glory to him!  Man’s glory ends with the Nobel Prize, and praise of men, which will all be gone when this world is gone (2 Pet. 3:10, 12). Now that man has discovered DNA he thinks he knows the building blocks of life, but can he reproduce life? Does he know why DNA does what it does? Truly, it is God’s glory to conceal a matter, and the glory of kings to search it out!
