Harsh Reality of EBOLA (WARNING: only for the strong)

The World Health Organization identified the first Ebola case in Guinea on March 21, 2014, and by March 30th the virus had crossed the border into Liberia. Sierra Leone reported its first two cases on May 30th and on June 20th, with some 330 recorded deaths, Doctors Without Borders warned that the outbreak was “totally out of control.”

This is a perfect illustration of how pictures are worth more than 1,000 words.

  1. My husband also mentioned the Spanish flu when we were talking about the Ebola virus last night. Very difficult for health care workers in particular to act with love and wisdom.

    1. Sorry, but the teacher part of me is surfacing again. What would be a good topic for a research paper about the plagues? A historical approach might be best for the numbers, but some kids who are interested in the medical field, might like to know more about details of he diseases.

    1. Remember how Americans originally called the Avian Flu of 1918 the Spanish Flu because our troops came home from Spain and supposedly brought it with them. History now tells us that we carried it to Spain and not the other way around. I have no doubt we will lose a lot of good men who have no idea how serious Ebola is.

    1. Terri, pray it never comes to your community or your state. Remember all those days in history class where we read about the plagues that took 1/3 or 1/2 the population in several countries? Remember the black death in England? Remember the flu of 1918 in America? My daddy (age 4 at the time) lost both his parents within three days.
